iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s and 6s Plus price in Kenya: worth it?

These phones are over a decade old. They can still turn on and make calls, but for most Kenyan buyers the bigger question is whether your everyday apps will run.

These are asking prices from other sellers' listings, checked on 2 November 2026. We do not list these models and have not verified these prices.

iPhone 6 and 6 Plus price in Kenya

We did not find reliable current retail prices for the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. Most are now sold second hand, so prices depend on condition. They came in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB versions, and 16GB is too small for today's apps.

iPhone 6s and 6s Plus price in Kenya

Older listings showed the iPhone 6s at about KSh 22,000 to 23,000, which seems high for its age. Individual sellers may ask much less. We would not pay anything near that when a newer iPhone 11 is listed at around KSh 27,000.

Why software is the main problem

• iPhone 6 and 6 Plus: stopped at iOS 12.
• iPhone 6s and 6s Plus: stopped at iOS 15.

WhatsApp needs iOS 15.1 or newer at the time of writing, so an iPhone 6 cannot run current versions. Banking and other apps may also stop working. Check any app you rely on, including M-PESA, before you buy.

Storage sizes and model differences

• iPhone 6 and 6 Plus: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, depending on the version.
• iPhone 6s and 6s Plus: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, depending on the version.

The 6s looks almost the same as the 6, so check the exact model in Settings, under General and About. You can also read the model number on the back: A1586 is an iPhone 6. The Plus models have a larger 5.5-inch display and a bigger battery.

Checking a used iPhone 6 or 6s

Check Touch ID, the charging port and the speakers. Look at Battery Health on the 6s if your iOS version shows it, and expect some wear. Replacement parts vary in quality, and a repair can easily cost more than the phone is worth. See our repair guide.
