iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus price in Kenya: should you still buy one?
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are the last mainstream iPhones with a Home button and Touch ID, apart from the SE. They are cheap, but their age is a real concern.
These are asking prices from other sellers' listings, checked on 2 November 2026. We do not list these models and have not verified these prices.
iPhone 8 price in Kenya
We found a refurbished 64GB listing at about KSh 30,400, marked out of stock. Individual sellers may ask much less. Storage options are 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
iPhone 8 Plus price in Kenya
Refurbished listings ranged from about KSh 17,000 to KSh 41,600. A KSh 40,000 price looks hard to justify when a newer iPhone 11 can be found for less.
What you get
- iPhone 8: 4.7-inch LCD, A11 Bionic, 12MP camera, 1,821 mAh
- iPhone 8 Plus: 5.5-inch LCD, A11 Bionic, dual 12MP cameras with 2x zoom, 2,691 mAh
Both stopped at iOS 16 and have no 5G.
Should you buy one?
Only as a spare or for very basic use. If you want a small iPhone that still gets updates, look at the iPhone SE (2nd or 3rd generation). Also, there is no iPhone 8s or 9.
If you want a phone that will last, here is what we stock at the lower end:
| Model | Condition | From | Stock |
|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone 12 Pro | Ex-UK (Refurbished) | KSh 62,000 | In stock |
| iPhone 13 | Ex-UK (Refurbished) | KSh 62,000 | In stock |
64GB, 128GB or 256GB?
The 64GB version fills up quickly, so look for 128GB or 256GB if you can. Since the 128GB version came later, it is less common. Always confirm the storage in Settings, under General and About, rather than trusting the advert.
iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus?
The 8 Plus has a larger screen, a second camera with 2x zoom, Portrait mode and a better battery. The 8 is smaller and easier to use with one hand. Either way, a used phone's battery may be well below its original capacity, so check it first.
Refurbished or second hand?
Both are common for this model. Ask what was replaced and who did the work. A new screen is not always a bad thing, but a poor one can look dull. An advert with a very high price compared with others deserves a question. Compare it with the iPhone SE, which looks similar and has a newer chip.
